Sending documents across Lagos
Small parcel, high stakes. How to set it up so nothing depends on memory.
Before you request
A document delivery needs a clear handover plan as well as two addresses. Describe the envelope or package, put the correct recipient name and phone number on the request, and explain how the agent can find the pickup and delivery entrances. Use secure packaging and specify any time constraint before agreeing the price. Avoid putting unnecessary personal details from the documents into the request description.
Your checklist
- Pick Document as the item type and Small as the size. It tells the agent what they are carrying.
- Name the receiver and give their phone number. The agent hands over only to that person.
- Put the value on the record, even for paper. A dispute needs a number.
- Watch the steps: Picked up, In transit, Delivered, each with the agent's photos.
- Approve only after you see the delivery photo.
An example request
For an envelope going from an office in Yaba to a receiver in Lekki, include the office entrance, the pickup contact, the receiver's name and the gate instructions. State whether the receiver will be available within a particular window. Agree the price before pickup and keep changes in the request chat, so the person collecting the envelope and the person sending it share the same record.
Before you approve
Check the pickup and delivery photos and the named receiver. A photo should establish the handover without requiring the contents of private documents to be exposed. If the recipient is unavailable or the delivery record is unclear, ask the agent to explain through the request. Approve once you have reviewed the delivery proof; if something is wrong, use the dispute flow before releasing payment.
